| Kyiv
is one of the most ancient European cities. Its history dates back to
862. The city is situated on the high hills on the banks of the Dnipro
river. It is one of the biggest rivers in Europe. Kyiv is famous for its
golden domes of old churches. The oldest one is St. Sophia's Cathedral.
Khreschatyk is the main avenue of the capital. The Independence Squere (Maydan Nezalezhnosty) became know all over the world because of the Orange Revolution, which heppened in November 2004. People are the main treasure of the capital. They are people that do not forget their past and create their future. Kyiv is beautiful in all seasons but especially it is very pretty in spring, when the chestnut trees are blossoming. |
